At the moment it just feels like a desert. You run about and there are so few demons the screen is practically always empty, the gameplay just feels dull.
I’d rather see higher demon count missions with a zone full of demons, than a lower amount of demons to kill but none being around

They don’t need to be the same level.
Missions kills count if demons are -1 to +1 you gov mission.
So if ur mission is 38s kills count from demons lv 37-39

Increasing demon count doesn't make sense (to me) cause it will take up more server (hardware) resources. Its more efficient to decrease demon kill amount (but why? Exp rate is already insane). I will, however, add more named demons (mainly to hell pents) which will be hard to kill, but will give nice rewards.

its not about the exp, its about how fun the game is to play, walking around a hollow zone with 1-2 demons running about at a time is just meh.
Alternatively remove any cap in place of how many demons you can spawn by hitting pents and increase their follow range. So I can run about slapping like 10 pents and then kill them all together.
Go pent 38s and then pent 40s... and tell me the difference you feel when playing the game. Way more fun killing more demons at a time.

Some of the pent zones feel super sparce and some feel super clustered. 52 FP is SUPER spaced out not allowing any demons to gather up.

So maybe what needs to happen is just a redesign of some of the pent areas? Remove a few walls, add a few pents?
