So here's the scenario. You died and are unable to retrieve your body. In one of the labs, run past 30 minutes. Whatever.
Here are my ideas:
1.) Increase the grave expiration time to 60 minutes if possible. 2.) have a flag on the questies that looks and see if you have the current item on that character. If not you can get a new one. So these players can go to creepers, can go to smugglers, whereever and at least piece together some items.

Increasing the timer to 60min sounds fair enough. Im not sure what you mean by the ‘flag’. You mean like a functiion which resets your quest item chests if you die?

Yes....well only upon losing that quest item. Not trying to allow players to farm some quest items through death, you know? Just trying to think of ways to help new players. Expired graves are one of the most disappointing things in this game series imo.

No lab death should make you lose your gear.
As there may not always be someone around on that lab to help you get it.
As for quest item chests reset, this should only be available after a gear rot not just when you die.
What could be cool is introducing say a loot hunter NPC.
When you rot your body and lose everything you visit his shop and he says how he’s found your loot and is willing to trade it back to you for a hefty price.
Or returns it at say 75% of its stats. So if you had a +20 set you get it back as +15 set and have to work it back up.... harsh but not as harsh and losing everything

I think the 75% is a nice idea. Money is good but is heavily relevant or irrelevant depending on the economy.
